MY TAKE ON COLOURPOP CRYSTAL PRIMING AND SETTING SPRAYS
Packaging: The priming and setting sprays come in a pretty looking glass bottle with a spray pump just like their liquid highlighters. The glass bottles are sturdy and wont break easily.
Texture: The priming and setting sprays are like water and are quite moisturizing/hydrating at the same time. They do not feel sticky or greasy at all.
Types: Colourpop crystal range has 2 priming sprays and 2 makeup setting sprays as follows-
Rose Quartz (Priming spray)- This priming spray gives your face a dewy base because of olive oil derivatives in it. It also contains rose quartz crystals, apple extract to boost hydration and grapefruit extract that provides skin with anti-oxidants. The spray keeps your skin moisturized without giving it a greasy look and makes a great base for makeup.
Amethyst (Priming spray)- This priming spray gives your face a matte base because it contains honey extracts that keeps oiliness at bay. It also contains amethyst crystals, extracts of dragon fruit, pomegranate and orange flower that provides skin with anti-oxidants and reduces wrinkles. This spray isn’t overly drying but feels quite hydrating on the skin and makes a great base for makeup.
Aquamarine (Setting spray)- This setting spray gives your face a dewy finish because of olive oil derivatives in it. It also contains aquamarine crystals, natural red algae and apple extract to improve suppleness and hydration and a film former to keep your makeup in place. The setting spray is my favorite because it gives a very natural highlighting glow to the cheeks without a highlighter which I love! Also, using a highlighter before using this spray adds on to the glow!
Aventurine (Setting spray)- This setting spray gives your face a matte finish because of honey extracts in it while the coconut water helps boost hydration. It also contains aventurine crystals, cucumber water and lemon extract to calm irritated or tired skin and reduce free radicals on the skin. The makeup setting spray keeps skin matte (or control oiliness for longer) and makeup in place throughout the day.
Fragrance: Crystals spray with dewy finish have pink grapefruit fragrance while those with matte finish have fresh cucumber fragrance.
How I use and staying power/after-effects: To use, spray dewy or matte priming spray on bare cleansed face and pat it in. Once dried, carry on with the makeup and finish it with the makeup setting spray of your choice.
Since I am a regular user of makeup, I always like to use a setting spray and a primer so the makeup looks flawless and lasts longer. I am highly impressed with all the sprays and they all work amazing! The dewy sprays gives your skin a very natural glow and matte sprays help control shine without the drying effect. Also, I love the fact that the priming spray doesn’t feel silicony yet it intensifies the makeup application; especially the blush that looks vibrant as compared to when you do not use this priming spray. Setting sprays simply sets in all the powders (translucent powder and all powder products used on face) and makes your makeup last longer. I like to spray some setting spray on my damp beauty blender too before using to intensify its effect and it works great. I simply want to forget all the the other makeup setting sprays and primers and use these forever! Give these a big thumbs up.
Pro Tip: Dewy priming spray and setting spray used together gives an intense glow while matte priming spray and dewy setting spray when used together gives a subtle glow. Both matte products give a hydrated yet shine-free finish. Use the sprays accordingly.
