What the brand says: With the all new creme formula, ColourPop has released 6 new lippie stix nude shades that comes with matching lippie pencils! These are medium-to-full coverage lipsticks that’s ultra creamy and melts onto the lips.
MY TAKE ON NEW COLOURPOP LIPPI STIX NUDES
Packaging: The lipsticks come in a twist up long pen-tube with a click closure lid. The lippie pencils can be sharpened.
Texture: The creme lippie stix are very soft and glide smoothly and are 100% opaque and pigmented; however they break very easily too! Lippie pencils are matte and can be used alone too.
Shade: There are a total of 6 shades (lippie stix with matching lippie pencils) in the ‘Nude’ collection, below is a summary on each-
Toy- This is the lightest shade of all and will only suit very fair skin tones. You can see in the picture that this totally washed out my skin tone and made me look darker!
I’m Yours- This too is similar to ‘Toy’ but it a little deeper and will only suit fair skin tones.
Sure Thing- This is a light peach shade which too is lighter for medium to dark skin tones and will only suit fair skin tones!
Drop Top- This again is similar to ‘Sure Thing’ but is more peachy yet lighter for medium to dark skin tones. Medium skin tones can wear this- maybe, but this is a strict no-no for dark skin tones!
Boy’s Town- Now this is my favorite shade from the entire collection, only because it suits my medium skin tone and is a beautiful nude which does not look frosty like the other shades!
Bonus Points- This is a deeper chocolate brown and is the only shade in this range that will suit all skin tones- from fair to dark! I am not a big fan of brown lip shades though!
How I use and staying power: To use, line and fill in your lips with lippie pencils and top it up with matching lippie stix. You are done! I sometimes prefer just the lippie pencils since they go matte.
The lippie stix in creme gives a gorgeous subtle shine to your lips but it certainly does transfer! Also, while applying the lippie stix you need to be gentle or they break off and create a mess. The lippie pencils when used alone last longer while the lippie stix being ‘creme’ in formula transfer and do not last long. If you ask me, I am not at all impressed by the shade range and the ‘creme’ formula since the lipsticks break really easily (you can see it in pictures as well!) and the shades won’t go well with Indian skin tones. ‘Boy’s Town’ is the only shade I feel I can use; wish they had more peachy-nude or mauve-nude shades for medium to dark skin tones.
