MY TAKE ON COLOURPOP LIPPIE TO GO- HOT TO TROT KIT
Packaging: The lippie stix are dual sided- one side has the twist-up lip liner while the other has a twist-up bullet lipstick. The packaging is easy to use and is travel friendly.
Texture: The lip liners are very dry but glide smoothly. lipsticks are very creamy, glide on like a butter and settle to a super matte-dry finish.
Shade: The kit contains 5 shades and here is a summary on it:
- Cookie: This shade is a warm brown nude and a perfect nude lipstick I always wanted.
Skimpy Pencil: This is a soft pinky nude shade and goes well with the combination created.
- Cami: This is a cool-toned mauve and my favorite from the collection.
Bound Pencil: This shade is muted mauve and matched ‘cami’ perfectly.
- LBB: This shade is rich plum or wine-purple and suitable for occasions.
LBB Pencil: This shade too is rich plum wine and is paired perfectly with the lipstick.
- Trust Me: This shade is a true red similar to The Balm Meet Matte Hughes liquid lipstick in shade ‘loyal’ (the shade names actually relate to each other :p)
Bossy Pencil: This shade is a classic blue red and definitely matches well with the lipstick shade.
- Chateau: This shade is a blackened red colour but turns out to be dark brown on the lips.
Dukes Pencil: This shade is dark blackberry and is a bit darker that the lipstick. This can be smudged inwards to prevent obvious liner difference.
Fragrance: The lippie to go does not have any fragrance at all!
How I use and staying power: To use, line your lips with the liner side and fill in using the lippie stix. You are done!
The lip liners have a very dry texture yet they glide on very smoothly on the lips. It applies dry and settles into a non-transferable finish. The lippie stix on the other side are very creamy and buttery and glide on the lips very smoothly. They settle into a very dry-matte finish and does accentuate fine lines. If you have dry or cracked lips, you need to prep your lips first or the lipstick will go on very dry and will only make the condition worse. I regularly exfoliate my lips so I did not face any problems. The lipstick is intensely pigmented and looks lovely! A single swipe gives an opaque finish which is great. The lip liners are good and its amazing that Colourpop has made this lippie to go sticks containing both liner and lipstick since you can now apply it with ease and on-the-go. They do transfer but very minimal; last all day long but the lighter shades can vanish if you have oily food and the dark shades leave behind a very light stain in that case. Overall, i am very much happy with this buy and now I am very keen on trying out the lippie stix!
