What the brand says: Highly pigmented shadow that applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky. This long wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly.
MY TAKE ON COLOURPOP PRESSED POWDER LO-KEY EYESHADOW PALETTE
Packaging: The eye shadow palette comes in a sturdy and pretty carton case with magnetic closure enclosed in a cardboard cover. The shadow pans can be replaced.
Texture: The eye shadows are not creamy and thick like the individual shock shadows but are in a powder pressed forms and are very fine and soft. They adhere perfectly over the lids and blends evenly. Too much pressure which picking up the product can result into flaky application (due to a lot of product picked up) so light hand is required.
Shade: The eye shadow palette contains perfectly selected 4 eye shadow pans, here is a summary on them:
Take It Slow: This is a metallic warm champagne shade and adds a nice shimmery glow to the lids. Can be used as a highlighter too.
I Owe You: This is a matte mid-tone orange or sunset orange and looks beautiful! Might not suit darker skin tones though.
Running Late: This is a matte creamy orange which is more towards the yellow side. This particular shade is comparatively less pigmented.
Criss Cross: This is a well pigmented matte brick orange and looks lovely with the other shades in the palette.
How I use and staying power: You can mix and match any shades to create a look you want. I have used all the shades together to create a glowing coral look. Simply swipe the eye shadow brush into the pan and gently rub it into the lids. Use a primer beforehand for smooth base and use a setting spray for flawless finish.
All the shades are well pigmented except for the yellow shade- Running Late. All the shadows have a soft powdery texture that adheres on the lids thoroughly and can also be easily blended to create an ombre effect on the lids or to mix and match any shades. Avoid rubbing the brush aggressively on the palette or you might pick up too much of product and have a lot of fall outs or flaky finish. The eye shadows being powdery, have a lot of fall out so it is better you start with with eye makeup first, wipe off the under eye area and then do rest of the makeup. The shades in this palette are pretty and something I have never used before. Orange and yellow is fun to play with especially if you also have a shimmery shade. It stays put throughout the day and looks fresh even after 9-10 hours. Overall, I am pleased with this palette and love the shades totally!
