THE BODY SHOP HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL PURIFYING GLOW MASK REVIEW

The Body Shop have just released 5 new ‘superfood’ face masks, each targeted at different skin concerns. The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is aimed to those with oily and problematic skin.

HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL PURIFYING GLOW MASKIngredients:

The main ingredients in the mask are – Bamboo Charcoal from the Himalayan Foothills – Known to draw out impurities and excess oils from the skin Community Trade Organic Tea Tree Oil from Kenya – Purifies skin and helps keep skin in looking clearer Green Tea Leaves from Japan – Rich in antioxidants and catechins, the leaves effectively exfoliate the skin.

Packaging:

The packaging of the mask is beautiful; the product comes in a heavy brown glass pot which is embossed at the bottom and has an oversized black screw on lid. These masks retail at Rs. 2500 each for 75ml of product.

The mask is thick greyish-brown with a mixture of very fine charcoal and larger green tea leaves throughout the product and has a pleasant scent of tea tree.

HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL PURIFYING GLOW MASKHow to use:

Wash your face with warm water to open the pores. Scoop a small amount of the mask using a spatula ( do not dip your fingers into the mask). I like to use a brush to apply the mask for even application. The mask has thick and clay texture to it which started to harden over time and my face felt tight. The mask has a slight tingling and cooling sensation making it feel like an at-home spa experience. After keeping it on for 10 mins, wash it off with warm water using circular motion to exfoliate my skin. To finish off, splash your face with cold water and then pat dry. You can use the mask 2 to 3 times a week, every week.

Does it work ??:

The mask really does what it claims to do. Just after one use, my skin felt instantly clean. The main ingredients tea tree oil and charcoal are great for oily and blemished skin. It deep cleans the skin from excess oils and tightens pores. The mask has chunky green tea leaves in it which doubles up as an exfoliator. Personally, the charcoal mask is a little expensive, but it’s a great a high-quality product.
