MY TAKE ON LAKME 9 TO 5 NATURALE GEL KAJAL:
Packaging: The gel kajal comes in a tub form with a brush applicator. I am not really a fan of tub gel liners as I find retractable kajals easier to use. The applicator is easy to work with on both upper lash line and waterline.
Texture: The product is quite soft and creamy and applies effortlessly. Dries completely after a minute or so of application and settles to a water-proof layer with subtle shine.
How I use and staying power: To use, dip the brush in the gel and apply a thin layer or a thick layer (whatever you prefer) on the upper and lower lash line. Let it settle for a minute or so and you are done.
The kajal is completely waterproof and settles with a subtle shine. I love matte liners so I am not a big fan of the finish. The pigment is not really dark and intense black like the plum kajal that I use. The gel liner works well on the waterline too and does not tingle or burn your eyes at all.
I used false eyelashes for the first time when I had this liner on and had to remove and re-stick the lashes 2 times because it did not go well in one go but the liner stayed intact and did not budge at all. The liner however looked smudged and lightened by the end of the day (after approx. 6-7 hours) and if you rub your eyes, it will definitely smudge a bit or lighten. I have always used retractable liners and they stay intact and sharp all day long without even a trace of smudging but this one definitely did not look as ‘neat’ and sharp by the end of the day;maybe because of humid weathers. This also means that the liner can smudge if you have oily lids. The liner is good and water-proof and stays intact for a few hours but definitely not something I would prefer.
