What the brand says: The Lakme Absolute Moon-Lit Highlighter is a limited edition highlighter designed by fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. It is ideal for strobing – the exciting new makeup trend of the season! Contains fine velvet pearls to give your skin a stunning glow. A two-sided highlighter which highlights cheeks and contours your face.
Packaging and shade: The highlighter comes in a black plastic case with a transparent plastic lid. The product is highlighter cum bronzer containing a lighter champagne shade for highlighting and a milk-chocolate shade for contouring.
Texture: The highlighter isn’t soft or readily applicable like the usual good quality highlighters since you need to rub a lot to get a good amount of product. It is buildable though. The highlighter contains visible shimmer.
How I use and staying power: To use, swipe a thick bristle brush onto the product and apply it to the cheek bones using the lighter shade and contouring parts using the darker shade. blend it further to smoothen it out and layer it if required.
The highlighter does not have great pigmentation or glow like The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. It contains shimmer that appears chunky and patchy and is clearly visible. Also, you need to layer the highlighter and bronzer multiple times to make it visible; and even after layering the glow isn’t great! The subtle glow can be seen from a distance but as you come near, you can see the patchy application which is gross. If you like subtle glow, this highlighter is for you but if you like a visible glow, you can clearly skip this product because it will do no justice to your highlighting skills.
