What the brand says: The L’Oreal Paris Base Magique Transforming Smoothing Primer instantly smooths pores and creates an even surface, so that you get a more flawless make-up result that lasts. The silky, lightweight formula glides onto skin and minimizes the prominence of pores and fine lines to transform your skin surface.

LOREAL PARIS BASE MAGIQUE TRANSFORMING SMOOTHING PRIMER

Packaging: The primer comes in a tiny pot with screw-lid. You need to dip your fingers into the pot which I find unhygienic.

Texture: The product is quite smooth and soft but creamy and not gel-like. The primer does not feel like silicone yet makes the perfect makeup base!

LOREAL PARIS BASE MAGIQUE TRANSFORMING SMOOTHING PRIMERHow I use and staying power: I was confused initially whether to use it before sunscreen or my acne cream or after. After trying both ways, I feel it works better on bare skin, i.e. before sunscreen or any other cream you use. Simply take little amount and blend it on the cheeks and areas of concern where you have visible pores or on the entire face. Apply your sunscreen or any other acne lotion/moisturizer on top followed by your regular makeup routine.

The primer does not feel like silicone and disappear into the skin, but it feels like a thick cream that after massaging makes your skin soft and smooth and perfect as a base where you can apply foundation. The primer certainly does not work on pores, but it makes your skin soft and blurs out any imperfections on the face. I feel the makeup too lasts longer than usual and feels fresh even by the end of the day. Overall, a great primer that does not break me out or block the pores.
