MY TAKE ON LOREAL TRUE MATCH GENIUS 4 IN 1 FOUNDATION- G4 GOLD BEIGE
Packaging: The compact foundation comes in a unique flat box with pull-open lid. The box has 2 partitions, one side containing the compact foundation while other side is for keeping the sponge. The box has transparent see-through plastic frame over the lid to see the shade of foundation. The box overall looks really pretty.
Texture: The compact cream foundation is very creamy and glides on smoothly with the soft sponge provided.
Shade: Shade G4 gold beige is a neutral shade with prominent yellow tones. I think the G2 shade would have been a perfect match (dudhh, never buy foundations online!). But the good thing is, this shade too blends well with my skin tone and I can always apply a compact powder to cool down the yellow tones.
Fragrance: The foundation has a pure-chemical smell but it does not stay for more than few seconds once you apply it.
How I use and staying power: After using sunscreen, I swipe the soft sponge over foundation and apply it on my face just like you do while applying a compact powder. Only little product is needed as it goes a long way. The foundation looked white initially but the white cast faded after few minutes. It did look a bit yellow later then I used a compact powder to cool down the yellow tones. The foundation is not matte, and gives a dewy finish- not oily at all. I was very happy with the formula but it only lasted half an hour as my skin got really greasy later. It does not cover anything on the face and only gives temporary brightness. I blotted the greasiness and then it was all fine. All I wished was to have another foundation in my handbag so that I could change it in the washroom! To add on to it, I started looking dark and dull which means the foundation oxidises. I would never ever wish to use anything on my face that oxidises. I always like to use long lasting foundations, but this one I wished faded ASAP.
Loreal really disappointed me this time. The foundation not only fails to prime, conceal and give a powder finish, but is also makes your face look dull after few hours. I suppose girls with very dry skin can certainly use this with no complaints (except for the oxidising thing).
