What the brand says: Formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips. A superbly matte finish lipstick that is transfer-proof and is highly pigmented!
MY TAKE ON MAC RETRO MATTE LIPSTICK- RUBY WOO
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a standard mac lipstick tube.
Texture: The retro matte lipstick is very drying and superbly matte. Application can be uneven if lips aren’t adequately moisturized or prepared. Once applied, the lipstick feels light and settles into an even transfer-proof layer.
Shade: There are a total of 7 shades in this range, I got the bestselling ‘Ruby Woo’. This is a proper universal red shade unlike any other red ever made- as far as I have observed! Will suit every skin tone.
Fragrance: The lipstick has a typical MAC lipstick smell which I love.
How I use and staying power: To apply, start off with a red lip liner and apply the lipstick directly on lips or use a lipstick brush.
I wanted this particular red lipstick since a very long time but I already had so any red lipsticks that I never made up my mind to get this. Since I love MAC, I thought why not have this shade since its the best selling one? Trust me, I have stopped using any red lipstick that I have and use only this! Ruby Woo is a proper red shade, true to its name. If you have chapped lips or dry lips, you might want to either moisturize your lips or give this a miss altogether since the lipstick is very drying! I am comfortable with this because I regularly moisturize and exfoliate my lips. Once the lipstick is applied, you wont even feel anything on your lips, it is that comfortable. 100% transfer-proof and does not bleed at all. I am in love with this formula and shade, might try other shades from the range soon 🙂
