NYKAA BLENDMASTER SPONGES REVIEW

MY TAKE ON NYKAA BLENDMASTER SPONGES

Packaging: The sponges come in a pretty transparent box enclosed in a cardboard mould. The sponges do not come in a dotted case like the beauty blender that allows air drying!

Texture: The beauty sponges are very tough/hard and swell and soften a bit after soaking in water. Even after soaking, the sponges feel tough and not soft like the original beauty blender!

Color and shape: The sponges come in various colors and 2 shapes- ‘Tear Drop- makeup perfecting sponge’ and ‘Pear shape-sculpting makeup sponge’. I got both the shapes in pink color.

Fragrance: The sponges do have a weird rubber smell to it initially but fades away once you use it.

How I use and after-effects: To use, simply soak the sponge in water and squeeze it gently to remove excess water. The sponge is ready to be used.

I have always used the original beauty blender and I absolutely love it! I do not even use foundation brushes because I am used to beauty blender. The tear-drop shaped sponge looks just like a beauty blender but is not even 1% of it when it comes to performance and texture! Pear-shaped sponge works comparatively well due to its shape that allows easy grip and the flat side works well in blending the foundation and the other pointed side is great for contouring. Both the sponges are very hard and not at all soft but the pear-shaped works better only because of the shape. Blending is definitely streak-free but I find it tough to use around the eyes and in the corners of my eyes because of the tough sponge that does not allow me to thoroughly press it on my skin. You can use it to apply powder blushes too but I like using my blush brushes for it. Also, the brand claims that the sponge does not absorb excess product while making it sit only on the surface and I feel this isn’t a true claim because when I washed my sponge, the foundation marks refused to get off because they were deep in! I don’t think I will use the tear-drop shaped sponge but will definitely use the pear-shaped sponge because of the shape and ease of usage!
