I am a huge matte lover! After trying out the Nykaa matte nail enamels, I wanted to try the newly launched Revlon matte enamels. I got 2 shades from the range- Marine Matte and Sunny Matte, and here is a review on it:
MY TAKE ON REVLON MATTE NAIL ENAMELS- MARINE MATTE AND SUNNY MATTE REVIEW
Packaging: The transparent bottles have standard nail polish shape similar to other Revlon nail enamels. The only difference is that these matte ones have a frosty finish which looks really pretty! The applicator brush too is of good quality and makes application easy. The bottles are travel friendly.
Texture: The sunny matte has a very liquidy texture but the marine matte is quite thick. Since sunny matte is flowy and is a light shade, you need to add on to the coats for an opaque finish; while marine matte gives an opaque finish in just one coat but you can add an extra coat for a bright colour.
Shade: Sunny matte is a dull yellow colour while Marine matte is a brilliant teal aqua blue.
How I use and staying power: After buffing my nails, I apply a thin coat first (one stroke in the center followed by 2 strokes in the corners) and let it dry. After drying, I apply another coat and I am done. Since the sunny matte shade is light and is very liquidy, you need to add 3 coats for an opaque finish. The nail enamels dry pretty quickly and give a nice matte finish. The nail polish surprisingly do not chip easily! Even after having a long warm bath, the nail polish did not chip (which usually happens when I use other nail polishes). So I can conclude these are long lasting.
There are other shades too in this range but they do not have a wide range of options to choose from.
