THE BODY SHOP DROPS OF LIGHT PURE RESURFACING LIQUID PEEL REVIEW

MY TAKE ON THE BODY SHOP DROPS OF LIGHT PURE RESURFACING LIQUID PEEL

Packaging: The liquid peel comes in a white pump bottle with lock closure. The bottle is user and travel friendly.

Texture: The product is thick and has gel consistency. After massaging for few seconds, it turns into particles leaving behind a sticky weird residue.

How I use and after-effects: To use, take one to two pumps of the product and massage on dry face until particles or exfoliating residues appear. Rinse off with water.

I have used a lot of resurfacing liquid peels from different brands but this one feels a bit different because it leaves behind sticky residue on your face after rinsing off the particles; and I eventually end up using a face wash to thoroughly clean my face! (have you experienced this too?). Not once or twice, this has happened every time I used the product and if you have a lot of facial hair, some of the residual particles might actually stick to your face and refuse to come off and you eventually might have to put some efforts to get it off. Nevertheless, the product does the exfoliating job well and skin feels softer and smoother after every use. If you have sensitive skin or need gentle exfoliation, this product is great! Now coming to the brightening effect, I did not really see any brightness even after using the product regularly for over a month while the brand claims that the product instantly brightens up your skin from first use itself! It definitely made my skin look healthy and glowing but that is all you can expect from this product. Also, I did not really see any change in the texture of my skin and to let to know, I have scarred and textured skin and the product only made it feel smooth and soft, nothing more or less. The product is great as a maintenance product but do not expect any miraculous visible results.

THE BODY SHOP DROPS OF LIGHT PURE RESURFACING LIQUID PEEL REVIEW

Fact check: Liquid peels usually contain a lot of cellulose or something named as ‘carbomer’  (mentioned in the ingredient list on bottle) that ball up to form peeling exfoliating particles. They are the ones that help remove dead skin cells and dirt from your skin. These biodegradable polymers are used in products as thickening agents while in liquid peels, they are added in abundance so they eventually end up balling up when used and this is used as the main feature/property in these products! The peeling particles that form on your skin are not entirely your dead skin cells! They are just cellulose particles that help remove dead skin cells.
