Coco Soul Hair & Scalp Cleanser and Conditioner Review

Packaging: Both the shampoo and conditioner come in similar see-through pump bottle packaging which is easy to use.

Texture: The shampoo is gel-like and does not readily foam in contact with wet hair, needs a bit of massaging. The conditioner is creamy and spreads evenly.

Fragrance: The shampoo smells of some coconut dessert initially but as you massage it into your hair, it smells a bit off and paint-like. The conditioner too smells like a coconut dessert and retains its pleasant fragrance.

How I use and after-effects: I massage the shampoo on my hair ad scalp 2 times followed up by the scalp and hair conditioner. I keep it for a few minutes and rinse away.

I love using chemical-free products and ever since this hit the market, I was keen on trying it out! The shampoo although doesn’t foam readily, cleanses the scalp and hair well and doesn’t have drying effects which is good. It definitely doesn’t have the slippery silicony effect like the chemical-laden shampoos but once hair dries, it feel soft and looks healthy.

Coco Soul Hair & Scalp Cleanser and Conditioner Review

I have used scalp and hair mask/conditioner earlier and absolutely loved it and expected this one to work well too but to my surprise, I did not like the conditioner one bit! It smells great and that’s the only thing I liked about it. I have an oily scalp but my hair and scalp stays fresh and shine-free for good 4 days but when I used this, my scalp got oilier the very next day of hair wash! It looked oily to an extent that a women at a salon I visited actually asked me if I have oiled my hair! I gave this conditioner too many chances and it does the same thing to my hair over and over again. I was pretty sad at the fact that I just wasted my money then found out another way to use it! I tried this mask as a per-shampoo hair mask and it worked like magic. I personally like to use it as a hair mask 30 minutes before hair wash and it keeps my hair healthy and soft.

Also, the conditioner and shampoo combination made my hair really rough at the ends and prone to tangles and knots but using the conditioner as a pre-shampoo hair mask did not do that. I won’t be repurchasing the conditioner ever again and also might skip purchasing the shampoo when this one gets over because I clearly gag at the paint-like smell it develops while massaging on the scalp. This is how they worked on me, not sure how it will work on dry hair.
