What the brand says: Go shine-free without layering! Maybelline’s lightweight, gel stick foundation has an exclusive anti-shine powder core that instantly dissolves excess oil. Maybelline New York Fit Me Stick is an oil-absorbing powder foundation stick that is creamy and blends into a natural matte finish for smooth and even-looking skin. Pores look minimized and skin stays shine-free for ten hours.
Packaging: The foundation stick comes in a twist-up bullet form and is easy to use on-the-go.
Texture: The foundation stick goes on creamy and settles into a soft matte finish.
Shade: I got the shade ‘Pure Beige’ which matches my skin colour and has a slight yellow undertone to it- perfect for Indian skin tones.
Fragrance: The product is claimed to be fragrance-free and has a plastic-rancid smell which is because there is no fragrance added.
How I use and staying power/after-effects: To use, simply swipe the foundation stick on cheeks, chin, forehead, mouth area, nose area and around the eyes. Use a blending brush to blend everything properly. You may use fingers too but I feel it’s too unhygienic and the product won’t blend well.
The foundation stick feels creamy while application and once blended, it settles into a matte finish. The texture is perfect for combination skin and does not make skin appear shiny or greasy. The centre anti-shine powder core perfectly keeps shine at bay. The foundation has light coverage and goes on sheer on the skin. Any dark spots, acne redness or imperfections on the face remain unaffected and visible. Also, this product does not blur out my acne scars and all the time I felt as if I have nothing on the skin! This might be a pro for those who have flawless and perfect skin, but certainly is a con for those who have acne, scars and dark spots. The product cannot be layered as it might feel heavy and certainly look patchy. If you have any dry patches on the face, I suggest you give this a miss since it will only make your face look drier and chalky. As far the texture is concerned, it is perfect but fails to actually work like a foundation, instead it works like a BB cream.
